Last Chance for Year End Donations

There are a few hours left to contribute to your favorite organizations, cause or program. With online donations making it even quicker and easier to do so, I urge you to take a moment to contribute.

NYCSubwayGirl donates a portion of performance contributions to organizations who help to make this world a better place.  I call them The Champions I Support.

Supporting with a gift of any amount goes a long way.

I hope you join me.

"Comin' Back to Me" w/ Dan Kleederman live at Club Helsinki

I invited bassist Dan Kleederman to join me for the wonderful opportunity to support a great cause, a benefit concert for Habitat for Humanity in Hudson, NY at Club Helsinki. Dan and I were the opening act. It was a great night that featured great musicians who also call Hudson home: Tommy Stinson, Melora Creager, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Melissa Auf der Mauer. Hence the name for the benefit Home Bass: 4 Strings, 4 Hearts. It was fun performing with another musician on stage.

Habitat For Humanity Columbia county

Sunday January 27th Columbia County Habitat For Humanity benefit concert Club Helsinki, Hudson NY 7pm, I will be making a special guest appearance and joining my set will be bassist Dan Kleederman.

It's going to be a crazy fun night of music and support of a wonderful organization.

From Rural Intelligence webzine: Hosted by comely rock goddess Melissa Auf der Maur (Hole/Smashing Pumpkins), with multi-Grammy nominee Meshell Ndegeocello, “personification of rock n’ roll” Tommy Stinson (The Replacements/Guns ‘N’ Roses), and beguiling cello maven Melora Creager (Rasputina), Home Bass will honor and benefit Habitat for Humanity’s Columbia County chapter and its innovative Columbia Passive Townhouses, which offer affordable, sensible housing for low-income families. (Passive Townhouses reduce their owners’ energy consumption and costs by 90%.)

This organization is making such a difference in the community. They are providing sustainable neighborhood low income-housing. Connecting volunteers and the local community while empowering the future owner is amazing to see. Another great community gem is Habitat For Humanity's Re-Store - where reusable building materials are donated and available for purchase.  You can also recycle your paper goods in bins supplied by a cellulose insulation manufacturer in the Albany area, GreenFiber. In turn they are provide insulation made from recycling paper to Habitat's projects. The Re-Store is located at 829 Route 66, Hudson (Intersection of Route 66 and 9H, behind Village Dodge).

Habitat For Humanity Passive House event Sept 9th

Columbia County New York Habitat For Humanity (CCHfH) has a new project in Hudson-building two Passive Townhouses. Designed by ground-breaking green architect Dennis Wedlick Architect LLC (DWA), the Columbia Passive Townhouses at 244-246 Columbia Street in Hudson will be the first Habitat townhouses in New York to be constructed using passive energy design and engineering. This process can reduce external energy consumption by 90%. Something all homes need especially affordable housing.

I'll be performing at Club Helsinki Hudson, this Sunday September 9th during the Habitat For Humanity brunch 11:30-1pm. Dennis Wedlick lead architect for the project is the featured speaker and he will discuss the Passive Home process.

Ground breaking for the construction of the Columbia Passive Townhouses began Saturday September 8th.
