Rose Mandolin jam @Penn Station

I met Rose all the way from Victoria Island, BC, while I was performing in LIRR Penn Station, excited to her mandolin case I urged her to jam, and she did.  What a treat to play with another female musician, not something you see much in the subway.

What inspires Rose besides music? New York City of course

8 String Guitar Jam inspired Vincent Denis

I met Vincent when he auditioned at the Music Under NY Auditions (he's also in the clip I made about the auditions for my Inspiration Project series).

One day Vincent showed up while I was playing in LIRR Penn Station and we jammed. What inspires Vincent? music and people and the chance to play.

Inspired Singing Identical Twin Sisters

I met Adriana in Penn Station while I was singing and she was waiting for her sister Viviana to show up.  When Viviana showed up and I saw they were identical twins, I had to ask them my favorite question. "What inspires you?"  What I didn't know was how well they harmonize together. Sisters!

What inspires Adriana and Viviana?  Music and of course each other!

What's Your Inspiration?

Percussionists Owusu and Sabor Inspiration

MUNY artist Owusu (Tyrone Owusu Slater) and fellow percussionist Sabor played before me at the LIRR location in Penn Station. Before they left, they gave me incredible, honest inspirations about love and healing.

Here is a performance brought to you by StreetperformersTV

Tyrone Owusu Slater is the co-founder and program director of the Biko Transformation Center. Check it out!

Natalie Gelman Inspiring LIRR

It's always great to chat with another Music Under New York musician. I passed by Natalie playing in Penn Station (LIRR) singing her song Sweet July and she took a minute to chat with me about what inspires her. She's now living in California. We certainly miss her voice in the NYC transit stations.

Check her out!

Helga Davis WNYC + WQXR radio host

Helga Davis WNYC + WQXR radio host of "Overnight Music," passed by my LIRR gig and recognized me from my appearance at the 1st WNYC Battle of The Boroughs.  She was a judge and I was representing Manhattan.  I was surprised to see how fresh my performance that night was still in her mind.  Made this subway performer smile.

What inspires Helga?  "Beauty and music."

here's a link to my Battle of The Boroughs performance of my song "Comin' Back To Me"

LIRR A Day Full of Inspiration

Today I returned to LIRR after a longer than usual winter break due to the snow and cold. It was great to be back. People in this location are always full of inspirations.  Here's some that I captured on video.

What inspires Kayra and Erica "not have to go to a job I hate every morning," and "Life struggles."

What Inspires Karim? "Seeing beauty in the small things we take for granted."

What Inspires Anita? Not to miss her train. To be a comedian, laughter and her Mother.

What Inspires Nancy? Pure and simple, "Music and Love."

Martina's Inspiration

At Penn Station MUNY gal pal and diva extraordinaire Martina Bruno walked by and stopped for a chat and spontaneous song (note the train horn)! Her infectious laugh and words, well....Inspiring.

What's Martina's Inspiration? "Smiles, children, dogs, people..."We're all one, when I see someone else, I see myself."

"You're whole and complete, there's nothing that you need to fix, you're perfect the way you are."

See why I love to film these little treasures.  What's Your Inspiration?  Come find me at one of my gigs and let me know.
